This year, before we started to have lessons, I took part in a workshop about the implementation of ICTs in the teaching of English. We (teachers of English from different provinces in the country and I) participated cooperatively for this workshop in the virtual classroom of educ.ar. This platform is very similar to Moodle, it is really user-friendly, but, in my opinion, nicer.
which was posted in one of the forums by a teacher. It contains one hundred and fifty other links! It not only made me think of all the resources I could be using and still remained unknown to me, but also of all the possibilities we have to make our teaching different, or even, more enjoyable.
During the five weeks that the workshop lasted, we worked with other people and we got to know many interesting tools, because that was the idea, to enrich our knowledge about softwares and websites that could be use in the classroom with or without access to the internet.
One great finding was this link: http://docentesytic.wordpress.com/2011/05/21/150-herramientas-gratuitas-para-crear-materiales-educativos-con-tics/,

I tried most of these websites, if not all of them. Some are not available any longer and some others are not so useful. However, websites like Wordle, which has only one function becomes of great help. This website allows you to insert a text or a link and it disigns an image like this one for you:
If we do it with another applicaton, it could look much better, but for sure, it would take longer than 2 minutes!
Another resource I came across was Glogster. This one is a poster-maker, truly eye-catching, but not so simple to work with. It can be used for many different purposes, including to teach or to make presentations of some specific topics, but I have found that there is another platform devoted only to learning: edu.glogster.com. We should give it a try!
By now, you might be asking yourselves why am I writing about all these? Well, I began writing about it because I believe this workshop was very similar to ECO II, in style and its objectives were similar, too. Anyway, by means of this post I intend to sum up everything we have been working with in our subject till now; and that is what I have included in my wordle together with some other webpages I know.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the link :). It's good to add that the 150 websites are classified into different purposes as webquest generators, flashcard creators, etc.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes. It is an important thing to say... thanks!
